This older (but brand new, in original box) lovely scalloped musical box, made of Burr Madrona with inlaid scalloped trim and little Fleur de Lys will grace any coffee table or etagere. This was a very popular cabinet when it was introduced and was never displayed. Though we sold many of them, we've had this one all these years and never offered it because the frontal button needed attention and we had forgotten about it. It's now waiting for someone to love and enjoy and it was just serviced by Reuge.
It is playing three of Mozart's most delightful compositions. Die Zauberflöte, (the Glockenspiel excerpt from The Magic Flute), Eine Kleine Nacht Musik (the Minuet from A Little Night Music), and Marche Turque (aka Rondo Alla Turque or the Turkish March). It measures 260 x 170 x 70 mm.
A little History: The Fleur de lis is an impression of a lily composed of three petals with stems bound together You might recognize it as the former royal arms of France, in which was a bit more ornate and displayed in gold on a blue background.
