Only one available, brand new, never been sold. Found in a far corner of our old Koji Murai shelf.
Very collectible from the artist, Koji Murai. A wooden theatre (dated 1992 Pat.) depicting Guignol maybe 200 years ago, as he usually appeared in his own puppet plays, featuring his wife, Madelon, and his companion, Gnafron. A French puppet show similar to Pulcinelle, or Punch and Judy but maybe more witty and political. The three characters rise and fall to the music Au Clair de Lune. (Scroll down for more details)

This is new in box, mint condition, from older stock. Made of wood, it measures 11 1/4" high x 5 3/4" wide and has elongated openings on its top and sides to allow the light in. It plays Clair du Lune as it's characters including Guignol move to make themselves more prominent.
This Musical box is reminiscent of the traveling Punch and Judy shows... the original of which was Pulcinelle by the French creator Laurent Mourguet dating back to circa 1804. The character Guignol that he created later was the main character in the his puppet show which has come to bear his name, i.e. Le Theatre du Guignol!
