The lid of this lovely Blue Vintage Italian music box is adorned with an oval floral inlay in full bloom with leaves and small buds. It is edged by a filetto border and then a small strip of elm and lined in a cranberry red velvet fabric which conceals an 18 note reuge mechanism playing "The Wind Beneath my Wings." and comes with a lock and key.
The body of the cabinet itself is made of a dark blue burled elm and measures 10.5" x 6.25" x 2.5" high as it stands on shiny brass feet. It's angled corners adds interest to it's shape, an elongated octagon.
This box has been marked down because of a crack in the lacquer (not in the box itself) on the underside of the lid. Normally it would sell for about 250.00 or so.
