Zimalist tall and Square with Fluted Neck, Decanter with stopper

Zimbalist Decanter, Tall and Square with Fluted Neck

$265.50

This Brass with silver nickel plating decanter, features beautifully ornate almost geometrically set Lotus themed tooling and a 2 tune 28 note Thorens musical mechanism playing "How Dry I am" and "Let's Have Another Little Drink."  The stopper sports a tiny faux aqua marine stone.  The music plays when the stein is lifted and it measures approximately 10 3/4" high with a footprint of 4" Square"

Incidentally, the symbolic meaning of the lotus flower as per Wikipedia,  is as follows:
The lotus has long been regarded as sacred by many of the world's religions, especially in India and Egypt, where it is held to be a symbol of the Universe itself. Rooted in the mud, the lotus rises to blossom clean and bright, symbolizing purity and resurrection. The leaves and flowers are borne high above the water.

This will surely be a conversation piece where ever it is placed!

Another gift for the person who has everything. Circa 1955, this lovely decanter was designed by Fred Zimbalist of harmonica fame , a cousin of Ephrem Zimbalist, Sr. (the famed concert violinist).

Silver pieces such as this one were all Hand tooled in India and no two were exactly the same.
It is an older piece and will look fabulous holding flowers or greens. Though the interior seems to be quite clean and the cork looks to be newly replaced, we would hesitate to decant any wines or such for drinking purposes.
