Circa 1950s, this cute little duck was designed by Fred Zimbalist, a cousin of Ephrem Zimbalist, Sr. (the famed concert violinist) and plays "Love is a Many Splendored Thing." It will work well on a on a desk for "paperclips and things" or as a small candy dish at home.
The image seems to be over exposed or too bright, It actually has the usual lovely brass and silver tones that all Zimbalists have. See better image below or call in if you are interested.
Silver pieces such as this one were all Hand tooled in India and rarely, if ever, were two exactly the same.
Made of brass with silver nickel plating and features tasteful ornate tooling, it measures 8" from tip of bill to end of tail, 5 3/4" high and has a footprint of 3" in diameter.
It will be a smile producing piece wherever it is placed and of course, an interesting addition to a Zimbalist box collection.
